Putin Has Failed: May 9 Parade in Moscow Showed His Weakness, Says Estonian Foreign Ministry
The military parade held on May 9 in Moscow's Red Square has drawn criticism from the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Chancellor Joonatan Vseviov noted that the event left an impression of general decline and exhaustion. According to him, the displayed image reflects the current political and military situation in Russia.
The Estonian official highlighted the scarcity of military equipment involved in the parade. He claimed that the absence of armored vehicles and other weaponry is directly related to the ongoing war in Ukraine, where the Russian side has suffered significant losses. Vseviov also added that Russia likely deemed it impractical to concentrate the remaining equipment in one location.
In addition to the Moscow events, the Estonian Foreign Ministry representative also commented on a festive concert held in Ivangorod, adjacent to Narva. The diplomat assessed that conducting such events in the immediate vicinity of the border is a failed attempt to incite division and unrest within Estonian society.
