Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his belief that Iran's new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei is alive. In an interview with CBS News, Netanyahu stated that, in his opinion, the Iranian leader is alive, although it is complex to provide definitive information regarding his condition.

According to the Israeli government head, Khamenei is hiding in a secret location or some sort of bunker. Netanyahu also emphasized that Mojtaba Khamenei is eager to exercise his powers, although he added that the level of his influence significantly lags behind that of his father, Seyed Ali Khamenei.
