Netanyahu Admits Mistakes: Here’s Where Israel and the U.S. Went Wrong
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the calculations existing before military operations against Iran in an interview with CBS News. Commenting on media reports that he assured the American side that the Iranian leadership would not be able to close the Strait of Hormuz, the Prime Minister noted that it was impossible to calculate this accurately. According to him, the issue of the strait was recognized precisely during the course of military operations.
"I’m not sure we have misinterpreted the situation," he stated. Netanyahu expressed uncertainty over whether there had been a misinterpretation of the situation, while emphasizing that the current state creates significant risks for Iran. He added that no one, including the Iranians, are capable of perfect prediction of events.
It is worth noting that on February 28, the U.S. and Israel began military operations against Iran, targeting major cities, including Tehran. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked American military facilities in Israel and several regional countries (Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia). Additionally, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz to ships from the U.S., Israel, and their supporting countries.
