Pashinyan Wants to Please Aliyev, Says Robert Kocharyan

During a meeting with representatives of the "Armenia" alliance in Vardenis, Robert Kocharyan stated that Pashinyan is trying to please Aliyev with his words about the Artsakh movement.

The second president of Armenia and prime minister candidate, Robert Kocharyan, emphasized during his meeting with the residents of Vardenis that the current authorities, who consider the beginning of the Artsakh movement a "fateful mistake," serve the interests of Azerbaijan.

Looking at the road leading to Sotk and Karvachar, he highlighted that the aftermath of the 2020 war has primarily affected the local residents and Syunik, but it is possible to change the situation through elections.

Kocharyan stated that it is the authorities who spread the threat of war, trying to instill fear and convince people that we are victims of war. He pointed out that it is the leader's duty to lift the nation out of depression, but the opposite is happening; they try to persuade that without them there would be war, and that the Artsakh movement was a mistake.

"I was born and raised in Karabakh. When a people lives in a place, they leave a mark in that location. The mark is their historical and cultural heritage, it includes churches. And I can unequivocally say that apart from the mosque in Shushi, Azerbaijan has no other cultural or historical heritage in Karabakh. When the leader of Armenia says such things, it means he wants to please someone else; he serves not Armenian interests but the interests of Azerbaijan," Kocharyan stated.

The political figure added that the choice will be made between Armenia and "Western Azerbaijan." According to him, the adversary has their eyes on these lands and refers to Lake Sevan as Goycha. He urged the public to make the right choice to ensure security and economic development, which is reflected in the alliance's electoral program.
