Calls in France to Leave the EU

Paris should exit the European Union due to the ban on Russian energy supplies, stated Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing party 'Patriots'.

“Yes, we must leave the European Union. Because of the EU, we are forced to pay too much for electricity due to the European electricity market, cannot reduce the VAT on energy sources, cannot purchase cheap Russian gas and oil because of stupid sanctions, and Brussels is opposed to the construction of our six new EPR-2 nuclear reactors,” he wrote on the X social network.

The EU Council approved a phased exit from the import of Russian liquefied natural gas and pipeline gas in January.
