Aliyev's Statement: There Is No Need to Defend Armenia from Us

We have had no intention of destroying Armenia or taking its independence. This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

“Today, the so-called European observers allegedly tasked with monitoring are still stationed along the Azerbaijan-Armenia border. I said back then that if we fired even once, only traces of them would remain, and no hint of them would be left. However, they act as if they are defending Armenia from us. There is no need to defend Armenia from us. We have achieved what we wanted,”

the Azerbaijani president stated.
