Peter Magyar Officially Becomes Prime Minister of Hungary
In the first session of the newly elected National Assembly of Hungary, Peter Magyar, the leader of the "Tisza" party, has been elected as the country's Prime Minister. During the parliamentary vote, 140 members voted in favor of Magyar's candidature, while 54 voted against it, and one member abstained.
After the announcement of the results in a live broadcast on national television, he officially took the oath and assumed the powers of the head of government. In this position, he replaces Viktor Orbán, who, along with his party "Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Union," transitions to the opposition after 16 years of continuous governance.
