This day embodies both joy and, unfortunately, bitterness. This is written by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian.

“May 9 is the day of our historical victories. These were forged by the selfless feats of our ancestors, fathers, children, and brothers. This day holds both joy and, unfortunately, bitterness. However, these feelings and lessons are what will empower us in the near future to achieve new feats of peaceful and creative work.

With this memory and confidence in the future, we will strengthen our homeland, elevate the Armenian spirit, and ensure real and dignified peace.
