Hungary's Newly Elected Prime Minister Demands President's Resignation
Hungary's newly appointed Prime Minister Péter Magyar has addressed the country's President, Tamas Sulyok, demanding his immediate resignation. This was reported by TASS.
It is noteworthy that during the inaugural session of the newly elected National Assembly, the leader of the 'Tisza' party, Péter Magyart, was elected as Hungary's Prime Minister. His candidacy received the support of 140 lawmakers, while 54 voted against, and one abstained.
After the announcement of the voting results on national television, Magyár officially took his oath of office and assumed the responsibilities of the head of government. He replaces Viktor Orbán, who, after leading the country for 16 years, alongside his party 'Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union,' has now joined the ranks of the opposition.
