White House on Deadly Virus Outbreak on Cruise Ship

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism that the spread of the hantavirus is under control and promised to soon provide a report on the infected ship. “The situation is, as we hope, largely under control. The entire issue is with the ship,” the American leader stated during a press briefing with reporters.

Trump added that he hopes American citizens will not have to worry about the virus's spread. Earlier, the WHO reported seven cases of hantavirus infection onboard the MV Hondius cruise liner (a large maritime or ocean-going vessel). Three individuals have died, one is in intensive care in a hospital in China, and two others require medical evacuation.
