School Vacation Dates Approved by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has issued an order establishing the duration of educational activities and vacation dates for students of general education institutions implementing state programs during the 2026-2027 academic year.

According to the order, classes for students in grades 1 to 12 will commence on September 1, 2026, and conclude on May 21, 2027, under a 5-day work week, and on May 22, 2027, under a 6-day work week.

For 1st-grade students, the autumn vacation is scheduled from October 19 to 30, 2026, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from October 19 to 31, 2026, for a 6-day work week. The winter vacation is set for December 28, 2026, to January 22, 2027, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from December 28, 2026, to January 23, 2027, inclusive, for a 6-day work week. The spring vacation is planned for March 15 to 26, 2027, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from March 15 to 27, 2027, inclusive, for a 6-day work week.

For 2nd-grade students, the autumn vacation is scheduled from October 26 to 30, 2026, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from October 26 to 31, 2026, inclusive, for a 6-day work week. The winter vacation is the same as for 1st graders, while the spring vacation will be from March 22 to 26, 2027, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from March 22 to 27, 2027, inclusive, for a 6-day work week.

Students in grades 3-12 will have their autumn vacation from October 26 to 30, 2026, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from October 26 to 31, 2026, inclusive, for a 6-day work week. Their winter vacation is from December 28, 2026, to January 8, 2027, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from December 28, 2026, to January 9, 2027, inclusive, for a 6-day work week. The spring vacation will also be from March 22 to 26, 2027, inclusive, for a 5-day work week, and from March 22 to 27, 2027, inclusive, for a 6-day work week.
