Passengers of Ship with Dangerous Virus Outbreak Still Being Searched For
California authorities are searching for over two dozen passengers of the MV Hondius cruise ship, where a hantavirus outbreak has been recorded. The individuals disembarked and have yet to report to health officials. This information has been disseminated by The New York Post (NYP), citing its sources.
According to state officials, there were California residents aboard the cruise ship. The travelers whose details are already known are under medical supervision, and no symptoms of illness have been detected among them.
There have been three recorded deaths on the MV Hondius; among the deceased are a citizen of Germany and a married couple from the Netherlands. There is speculation that the couple contracted the virus before the voyage began. In total, there were 147 individuals on the ship, of whom 88 were passengers and 59 were crew members. Recent data indicates there are eight confirmed cases of infection aboard the cruise ship.
