Iran Has Not Responded to US's New Peace Proposal
Iran has not officially responded to the one-page, 14-point peace proposal submitted by the US. This was reported by the Tasnim agency, citing informed sources.
The source stated that despite Axios's claims suggesting that the parties are close to reaching a ceasefire agreement, Iran has yet to provide an official response to Washington's recent plan. It was noted that the American proposal contains several unacceptable provisions.
According to the source, publications in US media are an attempt to justify Donald Trump's withdrawal from the initial plan regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
It has also emerged that Iran had transmitted a 14-point logical proposal to the US through Pakistan, after which the US side presented its own plan. While the Iranian side was working on a response, the US's imprudent actions led to a suspension of discussions. However, after Trump's withdrawal from the initial intentions, Iran resumed consideration of proposals. The final decision will again be communicated through Pakistan.
According to the agency, the Iranian delegation's discussions are focused on the cessation of hostilities, while the nuclear issue is not on the agenda at this stage.
