Romanian Government Resigns Amid Political Crisis
The Romanian government has resigned. This occurred against the backdrop of a political crisis that has persisted in the country since the end of April, reports TASS.
The President of Romania defended the motion of no confidence against the government, after which the cabinet effectively relinquished its powers. Now, the head of state must propose a new candidate for prime minister.
If the parliament rejects the proposed candidates twice, the president will have the right to dissolve the parliament and call for early elections.
