Moscow and Washington Relations in Focus During Lavrov-Rubio Discussion
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed bilateral relations and the international situation during a phone conversation. The heads of the foreign affairs agencies conducted a "check-up of the clocks" regarding the current state of Russian-American relations and international affairs, as well as reviewing the timeline for bilateral communications. According to the statement, the conversation took place in a constructive and practical atmosphere.
Last week, a one-and-a-half-hour phone call also occurred between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The Russian president expressed readiness to establish a ceasefire by May 9. The leaders of both countries agreed that the conflict is being prolonged by the provocations from European leaders and that Volodymyr Zelensky is seeking to extend the hostilities.
