How Those Under House Arrest Will Vote
According to the Hraparak newspaper, the relevant authorities have considered several options regarding the voting process for approximately 1,000 citizens of Armenia who are under house arrest. An official from the Ministry of Justice stated that the preliminary decision is for probation service employees to accompany these individuals to polling stations and then return them home.
They indicated that this option has been deemed the most preferable, although the possibility of bringing a ballot box to their homes has also been discussed.
The measure of 'house arrest' was introduced with new procedural regulations and has been in effect since July 1, 2023, following the implementation of the new Criminal Procedure Code.
