Criminal Proceedings Initiated Regarding Car Accident Involving 19-Year-Old

In response to a video circulated online involving a 19-year-old, the Investigative Committee reports that, based on a notification received from the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminal proceedings were initiated on April 23, 2026, at the Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

The proceedings are based on part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code, which addresses violations of requirements aimed at ensuring road traffic safety or rules ensuring the safety of road traffic or the operation of vehicles. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that V.M. was operating a 'Mercedes' vehicle while his driving rights were suspended at the time of the accident.

As a result, another criminal case was initiated at the Yerevan Investigative Department based on part 1 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to operating a vehicle by a person whose driving rights have been revoked or suspended, or who has no rights to operate a vehicle. This case has been joined with the previously initiated criminal proceedings.

Relevant expert examinations have been appointed. Measures are being taken within the framework of the criminal proceedings to clarify all circumstances of the incident,
