Video: Macron Arrives in Yerevan

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has arrived in the Republic of Armenia for a three-day state visit. At the airport, Macron was greeted by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, and Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

During his visit, Macron will first attend the summit of the European Political Community taking place in Yerevan. Following this, a private meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is scheduled, along with an expanded format meeting, after which the parties will issue a joint press statement. It is expected that during the visit, the leaders of the two countries will sign a document on strategic partnership.

As part of the agenda, Emmanuel Macron will also meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, visit the Tsiternakaberd Memorial Complex, and the Matenadaran. On the final day of the visit, May 5, the President of France will travel to Gyumri accompanied by Nikol Pashinyan. There, he will pay tribute to the victims of the Spitak earthquake and will later attend a grand concert dedicated to Armenian-French friendship at Vardanants Square. The government has allocated 393 million drams from the state budget for the organization of the event, which exceeds one million dollars.
