Nurmagomedov Refutes Tsarukyan's Statement on Putin
The former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has responded to Armenian fighter Arman Tsarukyan's claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin funded the construction of his gym. Nurmagomedov categorically denied Tsarukyan's information on social media, asserting that the Russian president did not allocate financial resources to establish a martial arts school in Dagestan in recognition of the fighter's achievements and services.
The legendary fighter stressed that this is absolutely false, adding, “No one has ever paid my bills or built gyms for me.”
It is noteworthy that the opening of the Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov Martial Arts School in Makhachkala took place on December 2, 2019. As for Arman Tsarukyan's athletic record, he last fought in November 2025 at the UFC Fight Night 265 event in Doha, where he secured a victory over Dan Hooker via submission in the second round. Currently, Tsarukyan's professional record stands at 23 wins and 3 losses.
