New Details on Tariff Quota for Importing Certain Goods from Iran

Auroranews.am previously reported that during a session of the Armenian government, it was decided that from 2026, a tariff quota will apply to certain goods of Iranian origin imported from Iran to Armenia, including tomatoes, cucumbers, and apples. These goods will be subject to a zero percent customs duty upon import.

Auroranews.am spoke with a financial expert to gather more detailed information regarding this decision. According to the draft, “The Government of Armenia has established the procedure for applying a tariff quota for certain types of goods imported from Iran. According to this decision, the tariff quota will cover goods imported from the Islamic Republic of Iran under the customs procedure ‘Exemption – for domestic consumption.’ During 2026, the import of these specific goods will be permitted at a zero percent customs duty rate, provided that the appropriate license is available. The authorized body for licensing the import of goods of Iranian origin has been recognized as the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia,” the publication states.

Attached are the specific goods of Iranian origin for which the tariff quota will apply.
