VIDEO: The Authorities Know How to Spend Money, But Not How to Work – Narek Karapetyan

“The largest factory in Hrazdan is Hrazdan Cement, which can produce up to 1 million tons of cement per year. Unfortunately, the Hrazdan Cement plant has been closed during this government’s tenure, and the authorities have not lifted a finger to restore it—neither bringing in investors nor providing good conditions for re-equipment,” states Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party council, in a video posted on his Facebook page.

“Kotayk Province is the region in Armenia where poverty has increased over the past 8 years since the revolution, and the closure of the Hrazdan Cement plant has played a significant role in this,” said Karapetyan, emphasizing that the country needs a strong government to restore its industrial potential.

“Our country's authorities know how to spend money but do not know how to generate income. If they cannot operate a single existing factory, how can they create jobs in the country? How will they revive the economy?” added Karapetyan.
