Surena Agajanyan Defeats Azerbaijani World Champion

Surena Agajanyan secured a spot in the finals at the European Wrestling Championships being held in the capital of Albania. The Armenian team continues its medal quest at the ongoing Greco-Roman style wrestling European Championship in Tiran.

Competing in the 60 kg weight category, Surena Agajanyan triumphed over Konunov in the quarterfinals in just one minute, ensuring his place in the semifinals.

On the path to fight for the gold medal, the Armenian wrestler faced Azerbaijani representative and current world and European champion, Nihad Zahid Mammadli. Agajanyan emerged victorious in the second round by showcasing his skills over the titleholder.

This victory propelled Surena Agajanyan into the finals of the European Championship, which will take place on April 22.
