“The Armenia Alliance has become the nurturing mother of the opposition today. A former MP from the Armenia Alliance is the second-in-command of Samvel Karapetyan, and another former MP is the second-in-command of Gagik Tsarukyan’s party. You are a true nurturing mother for the opposition,” said Hayk Kanjoryan, head of the ruling Civil Contract faction, addressing the opposition.

Referring to lawyer Aram Vardevanyan, Kanjoryan stated, “Do you know who Aram Vardevanyan is like? He is like those toastmasters at weddings who also sing. When the money is right, he is a toastmaster, and then he starts to sing… If you give him money, he will sing. Now the man is a lawyer; he’s a lawyer, and then he says, ‘If there’s enough money, I will come and engage in some political activities as well.’”
