VIDEO: Alen Simonyan Discusses Meeting with Azerbaijani Counterpart

The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, has positively assessed his meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart Sahiba Gafarova in Istanbul on April 17. Simonyan made this statement in an interview with Azerbaijani ‘Real TV’.

“The meeting went well. We had no disagreements. You might be surprised, but there are no disagreements. There is mutual understanding, cooperation, and plans for future collaboration. During our discussions, we faced no obstacles and I hope we will not have any,” said Simonyan.

In response to a question about establishing trade and economic ties between Baku and Yerevan, Simonyan emphasized the need to develop mutual trade. “I have been saying this for a long time: we need to trade. I believe we should expand this cooperation. As far as I know, businessmen, governments, and relevant organizations are already working in that direction, and that is very good. For the interests of both countries, it is necessary to continue and deepen this work,” Simonyan mentioned, according to ‘Real TV’.

The Chairman of the National Assembly also positively evaluated the reciprocal visits of representatives from the civil societies of both countries.
