VIDEO: Hundreds of Houses Underwater in Dagestan
In several areas of Dagestan, hundreds of homes and roads continue to remain underwater. The aftermath of the flooding in Dagestan has not yet been fully addressed. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, 1,339 residential buildings, 1,664 garden plots, and 90 road sections remain submerged in eight localities.
A total of 591 people, including 246 children, have been sheltered in temporary accommodations, where psychologists are available to assist. Transport links remain disrupted for 23 settlements across eight communities.
It is noteworthy that the floods in Dagestan began on March 28 and continued due to heavy rainfall on April 4-5. More than 4,000 people were evacuated from four micro-districts in the Derbent region due to a breach in the dam near the Gejukh reservoir.
