Trump Issues Statement
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he is prepared to suspend military operations against Iran for two weeks, contingent upon the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that this pertains to the full and safe restoration of navigation through this strategically significant route.
Trump indicated that if these conditions are met, it will be possible to reach a bilateral ceasefire. He also informed that Washington has received a 10-point proposal presented by Iran, which is being considered as a basis for negotiations.
According to the U.S. President, this decision was made after discussions with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, during which the latter called for a reduction in the intensity of military operations. Trump emphasized that the United States has already achieved its military objectives and has made progress toward preparing for a long-term peace agreement.
In his assessment, the proposed two-week pause is necessary to formulate and finalize the ultimate agreements, which could contribute not only to U.S.-Iran relations but also to the overall stabilization of the Middle East.
