State to Provide Housing for Large Families
The government plans to offer housing support to families with six or more minor children, fully subsidized. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has presented a draft law proposing a state assistance program for housing provision for families with six or more minor children. If adopted, the law will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
The draft suggests providing 4 million dram for each minor child to families meeting the program's criteria, intended for acquiring a home through a mortgage loan or for constructing a house.
If the family prefers to live in a rural area, they will receive an additional 4 million dram in support, which can be used for purchasing land for constructing an individual house or acquiring agricultural land.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, there are currently 643 families in Armenia with six or more minor children.
