Immediate Measures to Be Taken Against Iran, Says UK's Foreign Office

The United Kingdom has announced that it may implement economic pressure measures against Iran to restore international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the country's Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper during an appearance on ITV.

The Secretary highlighted that London prioritizes the use of both diplomatic and economic influence mechanisms to resolve the situation. Her remarks came after an international discussion on security, dedicated to the issue of closing the strait.

The event was organized by the UK's Foreign Office and took place in an online format, with participation from heads of foreign policy departments. Representatives from over 40 countries attended the discussion, including those from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Earlier, the UK's Ministry of Defence indicated that an international meeting of military planners is also scheduled for the coming week. During that discussion, various scenarios for restoring navigation in the strait will be examined following the conclusion of military operations.
