Moldova Completes Procedure to Exit CIS
The Parliament of Moldova has adopted a draft law in the final reading regarding the denunciation of the agreement on the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the organization's charter. This was reported by the "Moldpres" agency.
According to the source, the adopted documents must be signed by the President of the country after the Parliament's approval. Subsequently, Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will send them to the CIS Executive Committee.
It is noted that the further procedures will be carried out within the framework of international law. In particular, the process complies with the requirements of the Vienna Convention.
According to this, Moldova's exit from the CIS will be completed within 12 months after all necessary official steps have been taken.
