VIDEO: Pashinyan Responds to Putin on Recognizing Artsakh as Part of Azerbaijan

The Nagorno-Karabakh movement should not continue, stated Nikol Pashinyan. During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 1, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that the Nagorno-Karabakh movement cannot go on.

He emphasized, "I have already announced very transparently and publicly in the Republic of Armenia regarding the issues related to Nagorno-Karabakh, that we should not continue the Nagorno-Karabakh movement, because peace has already been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan."

Pashinyan reminded that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognized each other’s territorial integrity, political independence, and sovereignty based on the 1991 Almaty Declaration. He said, "As for Nagorno-Karabakh, we have discussed this many times, primarily in a working format. Yes, we have recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, but we did so only after the top leadership of the Russian Federation publicly spoke on this matter twice. And you remember, we have talked about this many times."

The Prime Minister also addressed issues related to the CSTO, noting that the mechanisms of the organization should have been activated in the specific situation created in 2022; however, they were not, leading to the current relations between the parties.
