KP Members Knew and Crossed Their Fingers in Anticipation: Tatoyan on the Arrest of David Minasian
Arman Tatoyan, co-founder of the political initiative "Wings of Unity" and former government official, stated: "All day today it was obvious that the KP members knew about the political directive to arrest student David Minasian and were crossing their fingers, waiting for when they would proceed with their favorite activity—writing statuses, mocking, and insulting a person.
And indeed, it happened—a shameless self-proclaimed crocodile expert, who holds a high office in our country and is obliged to serve every citizen, dares to mock a schoolboy for being unable to attend the Last Bell ceremony due to politically motivated detention. He is confident that he will be appreciated for writing that and will retain his position since it is linked to his leader.
Law is primarily about justice, and the detention of a schoolboy is a clear abuse of the law and a political directive; it is unnecessary even to talk about the fact that there are no grounds for it. The child and his family are not political at all.
It's a simple question—if 18-year-old David Minasian, who did not show "respect" towards the person occupying the position of Prime Minister in the church, had not faced such accusations, and even more, had not been detained, continuing to attend school and learn until the final verdict, what would have happened? The answer is unequivocal—nothing.
All of this has one explanation: the KP and their party leader are trying to sow an atmosphere of fear, to teach people not to express public positions about them, without caring at all that they are playing with the fate of a schoolboy entering adulthood.
As I have said, we need a different logic—not a government that protects itself with the law, but a law that protects the citizen, including from the government itself,” he wrote.
