Foreign Ministry on Armenian Citizens Who Purchased New Tickets Due to Canceled Flights
The procedure for providing compensation to Armenian citizens who purchased new tickets due to canceled flights is still in development, as stated by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement mentions that details will be published after approval by the government.
“As previously reported by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, the Foreign Ministry has initiated a program whereby citizens whose direct or transit flights back to Armenia were canceled due to the situation in the Middle East, and for whom the airline did not provide a new ticket, will receive compensation of up to 250,000 AMD per individual if they independently purchased a new ticket for their return to Armenia,” the report highlights.
Since the announcement of the initiative on March 7, this topic has been addressed on various occasions, including during a press conference with reporters in the National Assembly, in the Minister's public speech at the ambassadorial gathering in Mashtots, as well as in responses to inquiries from media representatives and Armenian citizens.
Considering the significant interest among Armenian citizens regarding this issue, it is noted that the procedure for providing compensation, including technical details, is currently in development and will be fully disclosed on official platforms after being approved by the government. Beneficiary citizens will also be informed about the application submission process, the list of necessary documents, and other conditions,” the announcement concludes.
