China's Investments in the South Caucasus Have Doubled

China has increased its investments in the South Caucasus countries over the last decade. According to the Eurasian Development Bank, by 2025, China is set to invest approximately $690 million in the region, which is 2.4 times more than the figures recorded in 2016.

Chinese investments in Armenia are limited, with the primary registered project being the construction of a mineral water production facility. The majority of investments—about 99 percent—are focused on Azerbaijan and Georgia.

In the region, Chinese investments are mainly directed towards the manufacturing industry and energy sector, which account for 90 percent of total investments.
