Macron Addresses President Pezeshkian
French President Emmanuel Macron has sent a message to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, calling for an end to unacceptable attacks against regional states, the preservation of energy and civilian infrastructure, and the restoration of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
“I urge Iran to engage in good-faith negotiations to pave the way for de-escalation of tensions and to create conditions that will allow it to meet the expectations of the international community regarding Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, as well as Iran’s actions that destabilize the regional situation,” Macron wrote.
He also called for the immediate return of French citizens Cecile Colerin and Jacques Paris, who are currently in the custody of Iran.
