Six Countries Ready to Ensure the Security of Hormuz
Mariam Z.
Great Britain, along with France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan, has announced its readiness to contribute to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The decision was published on the UK government's website.
In a joint statement, the countries strongly condemned Iran's attacks on unarmed commercial vessels, civilian energy infrastructure, and the de facto blockade of the strait. They demanded that Tehran immediately cease its threats, mine laying, and drone and missile attacks, and comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
It was emphasized that interference with international navigation poses a threat to global peace and security.
