The Head of the State Revenue Committee on Inspections at Tashir Group

In case of tax evasion, there is a toolkit available, and we operate based on risks; there are no such individual cases that can evade our attention after coming to our focus. This was stated by the head of the State Revenue Committee, Eduard Hakobyan, during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly.

“At this moment, there is no phenomenon of significant evasion. If that were the case, we would not have such high revenue growths in both 2025 and this year,” he said.

When asked whether the SRC has conducted inspections at the facilities of large owners recently, such as in the network of 88 supermarkets, the SRC head replied, “If anyone has a risk, they do not escape our eyes. In other words, if there is a risk, there is no individual differentiated approach. Our approach is that if we see a risk through our systems, analyze it, or have operational information, we act accordingly.

Regarding “88”, it is one of the large networks, and we are generally very attentive towards large networks, we have no constraints. Furthermore, I would say, we recently carried out a large inspection, which potentially generated tax liabilities amounting to several hundred million drams, and as a result, relevant discussions are being held with the organization to ensure that the obligations are fulfilled properly.

In response to the observation that after Samvel Karapetyan's well-known statement, the SRC began to inspect all his businesses and tried to find something, whether there are currently inspections at Tashir company, Eduard Hakobyan said, “That has not happened. You regularly lead me to the area where the question is politicized. There have been inspections at Tashir. Yes, there have been various major revelations in different organizations, and there have been in the past, last year, and there may be if we see the corresponding risks. That is why I say, there is no constraint for us to monitor any organization, including those related to the Tashir holding, or those organizations that are part of it.”
