According to Trump, the significant public interest in the topic has been the basis for giving such an instruction to the Secretary of Defense and other responsible agencies. This pertains to the search for and publication of documents relating to information about extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, as well as unidentified flying objects.

He noted that other government agencies will also be involved in the process.
