Trump's Influence on Ukraine is Weakened: The Economist

US President Donald Trump's ability to exert influence over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declined. This is reported by The Economist, analyzing potential political and military developments.

The publication notes that Trump still has some levers of influence, with America continuing to sell vital weapons to Europe, which are then transferred to Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine is now less dependent on American intelligence data than before, while the US has itself reduced war funding by 99 percent.

If, as is likely, any peace agreement includes American security guarantees for Ukraine that will be enshrined in the treaty, then the Senate will need to ratify them.
