Medications Fully Covered by the State for Citizens Aged 65 and Over, Says Avanesyan
Citizens aged 65 and over, who previously spent an average of 20,000 drams per month from their pensions on medications, are no longer incurring these costs as the state now covers them. This was stated by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a press briefing.
“Starting January 1, 2026, within the framework of universal health coverage, individuals aged 65 and over will realize significant financial savings. The longstanding health issues that citizens have accumulated over the years will finally receive solutions,” Avanesyan noted.
For citizens aged 65 and over, under the universal health coverage, there are medications that are fully reimbursed by the state. A list of accessible medications has been published, and there are also medications for which co-payments apply,” stated Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan.
