Russia Prepared to Avoid Airstrikes in Ukraine on Election Day: Galuzin

Russia is ready to ensure that there are no strikes in the heart of Ukraine on election day if elections are held there. This was announced by Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

The diplomat recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously announced Moscow's willingness to discuss this possibility. He also noted that the 5-10 million Ukrainians living in Russia should have the right to vote.

The deputy minister also mentioned attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian territory during the campaign period. “I would like to draw attention to our experience. In March 2024, presidential elections were held in Russia, and polling stations opened near combat zones, even considering the ongoing 'special operation',” he said.

According to Galuzin, Kyiv attempted to disrupt the electoral process in areas near the front lines. “However, it failed to achieve its goal,” the diplomat stated.

He added that Russia “will not concede to Kyiv's behavior and will allow the people of Ukraine to fully exercise their constitutionally guaranteed electoral rights and independently determine their country's future development.”

“Of course, if Kyiv's regime finally decides to take this democratic step,” emphasized Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister.
