Putin Has Fulfilled His Promise, Says Donald Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin has fulfilled his promise regarding the "energy pause" with Ukraine. In a conversation with reporters at the White House, Trump noted that the pause lasted for one week, from Sunday to the following Sunday, after which it ended.
According to him, during that time, Russia did not carry out any strikes, but following the end of the pause, a "strong blow" was executed. Trump emphasized that even a one-week pause is significant under these circumstances.
The U.S. President also mentioned that he had a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin, though he did not specify when it took place or disclose the details discussed.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier stated that Russia had violated the terms of the energy pause and had launched a massive strike just four days later. He called on Washington to intervene in the situation. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also shared this view, describing the Russian attack during his visit to Kyiv as a "very bad signal" on the eve of expected negotiations.
