Beggar Owns Multiple Homes and a Car with Personal Driver in India
In Indore, India, it has been revealed that a 50-year-old man named Mangilal Chouhan, who posed as a beggar for years, is not actually poor. The man had long presented himself in the market as a disabled beggar suffering from leprosy, moving on a wheeled wooden platform.
However, during a special operation aimed at curbing begging, Chouhan was arrested, and it was discovered that he owns several homes, a government-subsidized apartment, and a car with a personal driver. Moreover, according to law enforcement data, he earned income from renting auto-rickshaws and was also involved in lending money at interest.
This case has sparked significant public outcry in Indian society, once again highlighting the issue of fraud being carried out under the guise of begging.
