Minnesota Immigration Agents to Receive Body Cameras

The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, has announced that all federal immigration agents working in Minnesota will soon be equipped with body cameras.

This decision comes in the wake of the deaths of two Minnesota residents, U.S. citizens Rene Goody and Alex Pretti, who were shot by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in January.

Goody and Pretti were killed during protests against immigration raids carried out by several thousand immigration agents sent to Minnesota under the Trump administration.

“We will outfit all field agents in Minneapolis with body cameras, which will take effect immediately,” said Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem.
