Russia Not Interested in Igniting Global Conflict, Medvedev Says

Russia is not interested in igniting a global conflict, just as it was not interested in initiating a special military operation. This was announced by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council.

“Of course, we are not interested in a global conflict. We are not insane. We have said this a hundred times. Who needs a global conflict?” the politician stated.

He also noted that the Russian leadership has repeatedly warned the West and NATO countries, urging them to consider Russia's interests and come to the negotiating table.

“We have repeatedly warned the West, NATO countries, that we need to reach an agreement, asking you to take into account the interests of the Russian Federation, to define the limits of NATO's future advancement, and to refrain from involving Ukraine in NATO, since we already had a territorial dispute with Ukraine over Crimea. No. No words. 'No, we will do what we want, and whoever wants to join can do so.' Well, that’s it. This is now a serious global problem,” Medvedev concluded.
