Denmark to Deploy New Air Defense System at Central Base

The Danish Ministry of Defence has announced the deployment of a new anti-ship missile system at the Korsør naval base located in the central part of the country. In December 2025, Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace revealed that Denmark had ordered the anti-ship missile system for over €100 million.

According to a press release posted on the Danish Ministry of Defence's website, "The parties of the Defence Committee have agreed to deploy a coastal missile defense system at Korsør naval base." The new weapon will enable Copenhagen to better monitor vessel access to strategically significant internal waters, including the Danish straits and the western part of the Baltic Sea.

“Furthermore, the parliamentary committee members have agreed that a vessel, which will serve as a critical platform for monitoring underwater infrastructure, along with an associated analytical system, will be stationed at the Frederikshavn naval base,” the press release stated.
