Kremlin Reveals Purpose of Trump's Request for Restraint on Ukraine Strikes

The request from U.S. President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin to refrain from strikes on Ukraine aims to create favorable conditions for negotiations, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian leader.

“The issue is about creating favorable conditions for negotiations... Yes, of course, there was President Trump’s personal request,” Peskov told reporters.

Earlier, the American leader insisted that he personally asked Putin not to strike Kyiv and several other cities in Ukraine.
