Construction Companies May Lose Licenses for Violating Air Pollution Standards
New regulations aimed at reducing air pollution will come into effect for construction companies on May 1. Yeghiazaryan Vardanian, head of the Urban Development Committee, stated this during a press conference with journalists.
“All property owners, whether developers or builders, will be carrying out improvement works. This is not primarily linked to significant expenses; for instance, the roads used by vehicles to service the construction site need to be paved with concrete. This is not a large-scale job,” he noted.
The portions of construction sites that have ground surfaces must be covered with gravel to prevent dust from being blown away during windy conditions. It was also mentioned that construction sites must have appropriate equipment installed to analyze and assess the level of air pollution.
If the stated norms are not adhered to, construction companies may face the possibility of losing their licenses or having their licenses suspended.
