A Criminal Case Initiated Against Narek Karapetyan at the Investigative Committee
A criminal case has been initiated against Narek Karapetyan, the coordinator of the "Our Way" movement, at the Investigative Committee. This was reported by the Committee in response to a written inquiry from Auroranews.
According to the press release, the investigation was launched in accordance with Article 327, Part 2, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code, accepted on April 18, 2003 (corresponding to the current Article 461, Part 2, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code), and Article 38-327, Part 2, Clause 2 (which corresponds to the current Article 46-461, Part 2, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code).
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the Central Medical Commission had recognized Narek Karen Karapetyan as unfit for military service in peacetime but fit for military service with limitations during wartime. He has been registered in the reserves based on Article 15, Part 2 of the RA Law on Military Service.
In order to clarify several circumstances related to Narek Karapetyan's potential health issues, a commission for forensic medical examination was appointed within the framework of the criminal proceedings. He presented himself to the experts but refused to undergo examinations related to the health issues that previously constituted grounds for his exemption from mandatory military service.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings is ongoing.
