368 Intoxicated Drivers Detected: Results of Last Week's Police Patrols

From January 19 to 26, during services conducted in the capital, police patrols in Yerevan identified 4,867 traffic violations, relocating 149 vehicles to special storage areas. Notably, 165 drivers were found to be intoxicated, while 208 individuals were driving without a valid driver's license.

Among the violations, 102 were related to license plates, 577 for not wearing seat belts, 23 for driving without a child safety seat, 496 for smoking while driving, 357 for using a mobile phone while driving, 322 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, and 1,766 for various other infractions. Additionally, 129 vehicles were operated without third-party liability insurance (TPL), 241 had not undergone technical inspection, 53 had defective headlights (including 11 trucks), 73 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 197 did not have winter tires. Furthermore, 65 individuals were arrested on various charges and taken to community police departments.

In the same period, patrols in the regions detected 11,386 traffic violations, relocating 212 vehicles to special storage areas. There were 203 intoxicated drivers, 355 driving without a driver's license, and 17 individuals driving with fake licenses.

Other identified violations included 113 related to license plates, 2,887 for not wearing seat belts, 123 for driving without a child safety seat, 351 for smoking while driving, 466 for using a mobile phone while driving, 21 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, 1,270 for speeding, and 3,400 for various other infractions. 330 vehicles were operated without TPL, 822 had not undergone technical inspection, 715 had defective headlights (including 19 trucks), 146 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 550 did not have winter tires. Moreover, 7 drivers were fined for using non-standard amplifiers while driving. Additionally, 53 individuals were arrested on various charges and taken to community police territorial departments.
