US Seeks to Share Greenland's Natural Resources: Vice President Vance
The United States wishes to share the natural resources of Greenland, which Washington claims to protect, according to Vice President J.D. Vance.
President Donald Trump himself previously rejected the notion that the United States needs Greenland for its natural resources. “We want to share the wealth of this beautiful area, with so many minerals and resources that we are, in fact, protecting,” Vance stated in an interview with NewsMax.
On Wednesday, during the Davos Forum, Trump declared that he cannot imagine a scenario in which the US would go to war with NATO partner Denmark over Greenland. He clarified that a long-term deal for the island is currently under discussion, describing its duration as “eternity.” The President also noted that a framework for a future agreement regarding Greenland has been developed following his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
